This year, we experienced GED2020 – Global Exhibitions Day – in a way many never thought would happen. Remotely, virtually, across the world. While many countries are in lockdown with travel bans in place, the exhibition industry rallied together to create a very successful virtual Global Exhibitions Day 2020!
The main message of GED 2020 was about how exhibitions are key to rebuilding economies. It has already spread to 109 countries and has a social reach of 5.3 million people. Many major players in the industry are supporting this, and it has become the largest and most vital day of advocacy for the global exhibition industry.
Apart from rebuilding economies, the idea concentrates and puts a focus on the idea of connecting, reconnecting, starting over, and rebuilding communities and economies, through exhibitions. We feel that promoting face to face exhibitions can be one of the fastest and most effective ways to reconnect the marketplace to the connections made at exhibitions, which will all lead to the renewal of our economy.
GED 2020 is our industry coming together, to share hope and optimism that the world will travel again, and how important our role in rebuilding the economy is.
